OUR PURPOSE IS TO DEFEND, UPHOLD & PROMOTE THE IDEALS AND TRADITIONS OF THE SERBIAN CHETNIK MOVEMENT.

THE LEGACY WE PRESERVE

Serbian Chetniks Australia (SCA) is a professionally structured and proactive Serbian patriotic organisation. SCA was founded in 2009 with the vision of carrying on the Serbian Chetnik legacy.

Many Serbs would not be alive today and enjoying the freedom and opportunities of a democratic society if it were not for the faith, courage and heroism shown by our Chetnik forefathers and foremothers. In times of war they made tremendous sacrifices and many of them laid down their lives fighting the Turks, Bulgarians, Austro-Hungarians, Nazis, Fascists, Ustashe and Communists. In times of peace they built our Serbian Orthodox churches, monasteries and communities.

As members of SCA we pay tribute to these extraordinary Serbian men and women. We are extremely honoured to preserve the Chetnik name and proud to say that we are Serbian by blood and Chetnik by Heritage.

WITH FAITH IN GOD - FREEDOM OR DEATH

"In keeping with the time-honoured Chetnik principles of commitment, discipline and devotion to Serbia our special focus is to initiate and develop cultural, philanthropic and humanitarian projects to assist and empower Serbian communities in Australia and in the fatherland."

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES

SCA Continually strives to be the pre-eminent Chetnik organisation in the world. SCA has grown into a national body establishing sub-branches in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Canberra, and Hobart, with a goal to expand into other States and Territories. Our mission is to make the Serbian Chetnik legacy well known, relevant and inspiring to new generations of Serbs and the broader Australian community.

HUMANITARIAN EFFORTS

SCA has raised over $200,000 in funds for numerous charitable and humanitarian aid projects in Australia and Serbia. Much needed attention has been given to financially assist Serbian children in Kosovo and Metohija, rebuilding Serbian churches and monasteries and taking care of the sick and terminally ill. With the support of our sponsors and benefactors, SCA has donated $21,000 to date for the establishment of St. Sava College, the first Serbian college in Australia.

COMMUNITY EVENTS

SCA members regularly meet to discuss and plan annual events such as ANZAC Day March participation, General Draza Mihailovic Memorial Day, Christmas Eve hampers for our Chetnik Veterans as well as our Saint Day “The Presentation of Christ in the Temple”, which is the premier Serbian event of the year. We also organise presentation evenings, seminars, fundraisers and Orthodox friendship days.
